He's as silent almost as much as Link is silent. Both mostly grunt and scream more than they talk.

But people still understand Mario's (extremely bland) personality more than Link who is borderline Gordon Freeman.
Yeah, having Mario talk more will make him NOT as extremely bland. You know, make it like Fortune Street more.

I don't think he needs to talk more to have a personality. You can make someone very expressive and full of personality without technically ever saying anything.

I just think Mario sounds better when he talks, and Mario has been expressive, but usually just in a happy way.

If this happens, i'd hope for Bowser and Eggman to be rivaling each other. There's so much comedic potential in it.

Of course its predictable but its not like the story would amount to much anyhow.
As if that's a good thing. I wish Mario stories would amount to as much as they used to.

You act like they amounted to much in the first place.

Well I consider the RPGs to have above-average stories except Sticker Star. I wish the rest of the series would have that level of story.

But in the grand scheme of stories they still don't amount to much.

And I've told you many times. You CAN'T have the rpg level stories in the platformers. Rpgs are by design much slower games so they can have the amount of story telling in them. The platformers by design however are not. If you try to put the rpgs level of story telling into the platformers you'll kill the pacing.

What if you merged the two ala Child of Light?

Haven't played it so I don't know how it does it.
