Puzzle & Dragons: Super Mario Bros. Edition announced for 3DS

I guess the style doesn't appeal to you, but no need to moan and lament (or in Fawful's case, insist that this isn't an RPG due to his hopelessly inaccurate and narrower-than-a-hummingbird-feather preconceived notion of what an RPG is) about this game, especially if we haven't even learned a whole deal of it.

Let's wait and see

maybe by a miracle this game doesn't turn out as bad as it looks.

aka reverse sticker star

At least sixty-four guy doesn't pretend Sticker Star doesn't exist, is not an RPG, is not a Mario game, or worse, not a true Mario/Paper Mario/RPG. I would be all over him otherwise.

I like all Mario games

I don't like this game

Therefore this is not a Mario game

Even Hotel Mario? Or is that not a Mario game?
It's a Mario game all right. But it's on a only slightly higher level than the bootleg Mario games. I call it a fake Mario game because A)Nintendo has no recognition of the game and B)Mario has four fingers and C)Mario is supposed to look attractive. This one isn't.

You could've pulled that card if Bowser wasn't seen yet.

The last link I put in the topic even has a quick thing of the fight against Bowser even.

Still holding on to the slim hope that one of the RPG bosses will appear in this "RPG."

Don't bet on it.

Honestly I don't know why they would try to pull the "only main Mario characters" thing again after the reception to Sticker Star.
Well, to be fair, it didn't work in Sticker Star because it's a successor to an established franchise that is known for having original characters, and it overhauled the gameplay with poor execution despite not having a Paper Mario game that played like a Paper Mario game (the first two ones) for almost a decade now.

It's a new and different game mainly, so you can't compare that aspect really.

....You mean the above-average 75% on Metacritic where the vast majority of the complaints came from the gameplay?

By the way GungHo and Intelligent Systems/AlphaDream are two COMPLETELY difference companies with different priorities. This game is supposed to be an intermingling with the Mario series and their own Puzzle and Dragons thing. What did you honestly expect?

People could have gotten over the lack of OCs if the other aspects had been up to snuff.

Plus this is a different series with different standards.

He's too big.

Goombas where it's at.

GalacticPetey should be happy to see this.
Can I recruit him?
Well, from older posts and Mario Wiki, if I recall correctly, it's likely.

Note that all enemies in this game can also become allies to the player.

I read from one of the articles in which the writer expressed the opinion that Puzzle and Dragons should be a Pokemon game, and while it would have made for a logical crossover, I am quite grateful that the crossover focused on the Mario series because recruiting Mario enemies as a team sounds really awesome that I don't mind seeing a Pokemon game with Mario characters and the enemies as Pokemon. Yes, Paper Mario held the distinction of having enemies as teammates, but I won't say that it counts because those enemies are too friendly to be "enemies" (they have indicators to differentiate themselves from actual enemies in-game, such as friendly coloured bob-ombs vs enemy black bob-ombs).

By the way, why do we categorise all the monsters in Mario as "enemies"? I guess they are all called as such because they want to kill Mario, but I find such a categorisation funny, especially in this game's context. I guess there's no general category for monsters in Mario like in Pokemon and Digimon, so "enemies" is the only way to call them.

Thanks for reading.

They're called "enemies" because they are primarily obstacles in Mario games, not necessarily if they are good or bad in a moral context.

Course they work for Bowser so one would expect them to also be bad.

We have Pokemon Shuffle. I shudder to think of a Puzzle & Dragons Mario game with Pokemon Shuffle mixed into it. I know the other Puzzle & Dragons games have microtransactions, but I'm glad this one doesn't.

If it had microtransactions then my interest would immediately drop down to zero.
