The Mario & Luigi thread.

Aye that is true.

I don't think the next game should be as long as DT. I appreciate them wanting to give value but this series combat is too repetitive to last that long.

Some of Dream Team's area's dragged on. Although I have started to prefer Dream Team over Bowser's Island Island for the sole reason that Dream Team actually was a challenge to play. Looking back BiS was insultingly easy.

I can agree with that. Though the series in general was never really all that hard.

I wonder if we will go back to the mushroom kingdom for the next game?

Eh I'd rather a new location or revisit one of the original locations of the series.

But I wouldn't mind going back to the Mushroom Kingdom since I still liked the ones that took place there.

It was used by Younger Toadsworth and the babies to send themback into the past and there was no indication they sent the time machine back to the present.

What would happen if they went to the future?

That sounds unnecessarily complicated.

What if E. Gadd makes a new time machine, but it gets stolen by a secret villain? He goes back to Yoshi's Island and changes the events so Kamek defeats Yoshi and takes Baby Mario. Cut back to the present, space and time are ripping apart, when all of a sudden it cuts to a tennis game. Mario is utterly confused. He sees Bowser across the court, who says "You alright, Mario? It's your serve". Mario jumps over and attacks Bowser. He tries to explain what happened, but nobody believes him.

And that's why I'm not a writer at Nintendo. :P

I think Bowser has gone back in time what, three times now? Twice intentionally and once accidentally?

The most recent was an asspull from a mediocre game.

Because stupid contrived crap.

Here's a question: why did Bowser go back to his defeat at Egg Island instead of his defeat in Yoshi's Island?
He'd probably get defeated anyway.

Do we ever win?

Well that depends on your definition of win.

Beating Mario!

Oh, well then no.

Expanding on this, Mario and the tennis gang visit E. Gadd, who uses a Memory Machine on Mario to look at his memory (Super Mario Bros, etc). They eventually believe Mario, and E. Gadd gets to work on an interdimensional portal, so Mario can get back to his own universe and figure out who messed with the timeline. The tennis gang agrees to come with Mario and fight the mystery villain. You then fight through different past Mario games trying to figure out who did it.

Also, you will be able to choose any two of the tennis gang to play as on the hub world and in combat.

You could be Mario and Luigi, Wario and Waluigi, even Baby Mario and Donkey Kong if you want.

Baby Luigi.....

I'm going to take a prediction on the plot based on recurring trends in the series.

There will be a villain, either Bowser or new, who wants to take over the world, they will kidnap princess peach, whether she is important or not and they will either try to take over the world by brute force, or some ancient object that either grants wishes or they can obtain great power from.

Thats pretty much what happens every game.

Every time Baby Luigi is brought up, people keep mentioning kidnapping. Hm, maybe this is a variant of the big Ridley running gag here? Eventually?
