During the intro of the first (and only black-and-white) season episodes of Gilligan's Island, during the scene in which the SS Minnow begins heading out into sea, in the background, an American flag flying at half-staff is briefly visible in the background. This was because the intro was filmed not long after the assassination of John F. Kennedy.
 
When the Ohio amusement park King's Island first opened, two ABC sitcoms filmed episodes on-location at the park to give it national attention: The Partridge Family episode "I Left My Heart in Cincinnati" (which first aired January 26, 1973) and The Brady Bunch episode "The Cincinnati Kids" (which aired nearly 11 months later on November 23).
