RPG for me.

It is very close between 2D platformers and RPGs, but I ultimately have to go with RPGs

It was a good toss-up between 3D platformers and RPGs, but the thing that made me vote RPG is that the last two 3D platformers released were not as good as the ones before. I am glad Super Mario Odyssey is coming out, though.

Sports and Party games.

3d platformers, i guess?

also somehow edutainment is currently ahead of both puzzle and rhythm

new poll :bowser:

What are your opinions on the New Nintendo 2DS?

*It's a great addition to the Nintendo 3DS family, and I'm willing to buy one.
*It looks pretty good, and I'll think about buying one.
*It looks decent and has potential, but there are other Nintendo products that I'd rather buy.
*It's not important to me at all. It's an unnecessary addition, or too late in the 3DS's lifetime.
*I don't have an opinion.

I already own the original 3DS and the New 3DS XL, so I do not feel the need to buy this version, but I think it has potential, since it is less expensive and I notice that Nintendo is already starting to drop 3D for some of their future 3DS games which reinforces the choice to buy the New 2DS rather than a 3DS.

So the option I choose is: It looks decent and has potential, but there are other Nintendo products that I'd rather buy.

My extended opinion is that I like the idea, even though I'm not attracted it (won't buy it over a regular 3DS), mostly because it's a cheaper option to people who want to be economical and its design is an upgrade from the eye-sore that is the Nintendo 2DS.

Same here pretty much.

TBH I really like the design and might get one at some point for just that, but I don't really see the point with how many 3DS models are already out and with the Switch at large. The 2DS was already a strange decision due to it being a downgrade from the 3DS and already having a way to disable 3D on the normal system for those who don't want it. The original selling point of the 3DS was the 3D effect, at least that's what it seemed like back when it was new. The fact that they are barely even bothering with that now kinda speaks about how the 3DS is old news and maybe the games the 3DS is still getting would be better suited for Switch. And this is coming from someone who is really excited for the Superstar Saga remake.

well tbf two other sell points for the og 2ds were affordability and no clamshell, but the new 2ds invalidates one of those so ???
i can see the reasoning behind the 2ds, seeing as i bought one myself, but i dont see it as much with the new 2ds besides the hardware upgrades so i dont really think its necessary

Not sure why no clamshell is a selling point though that might actually be an advantage for the New 2DS. Screen is more easily protected and it can more easily fit in your pocket.

well the 2ds is quite durable due to the fact that it doesnt have a clamshell. mine has been beaten up for like 3 years now and it still chugs along fine, nothing more than a few scratches and no screen issues either, and while it's a rather tight fit, it still fits in my pocket

i've never really had a problem with the clamshells myself over the years, so i could be a little biased in that regard. sure they all have had other problems, i waited so long to get my old dslite replaced (i prioritized my siblings first) that the screen started turning red, but that wasn't because of the clamshell.

unless the shoulder buttons breaking count as a clamshell problem because hoo boy, those buttons die faster than i could imagine

Not important to me at all. If I wanted to replace my original 3DS, I'd buy the New original.

(gosh, 3DS terminology is confusing).

You talking about the new 3ds or the new 3ds xl?
