Who would have thought that a whimsical and magical story of a princess with an evil stepmother would be written by one of the directors of American Pie? I don't know about you but I was expecting the prince to wear a tube sock.

Remember in my most anticipated movies of 2015 video I said a David O. Russell movie is my #1 most anticipated? This is most certainly not that movie.

quite frankly, robin williams is not funny. at least not in this movie. he rambles for so long without saying anything funny beyond doing weird voices, and some of his jokes are just quite insensitive and mean, really. the whole part where he stalks the woman across town is really creepy, and he also gives off this kind of white savior vibe in thinking he's so clever for teaching the vietnamese outdated 1980s slang. the hauk and dickinson characters are really flat and two-dimensional

i guess if you find it funny, it's a good movie, but there's really nothing else to it

Might have actually overtaken Spirited Away as my favourite Ghibli film, though that's probably quite an unpopular opinion.

yeah i enjoyed whisper of the heart a lot more than pretty much all the other ghibli films
the cat returns will always have the special place in my heart though

i remember i watched half of whisper of the heart and got pretty bored with it and stopped

but then again, i hated the wind rises the first time i watched it and now it's one of my favorites so i'll give it a rewatch

I don't cry much - or, at all - at movies, actually. I don't know, I still feel sad, but the whole crying part doesn't seem to happen.

But yeah, I did think it was really sad - especially the last half-an-hour or so.
