What Movies Have You Seen Recently?

From Dusk till Dawn

what the actual fuck

The Hunger Games: Mockingjay - Part 1

Wowo that was actually better than what I was expecting. The intro was a bit awry, but the movie turned out to be worth it. It's so sad watching Philip Seymour Hoffman, and good lord Elizabeth Banks is amazing.

i'm not biased with elizabeth banks i swear i swear I SWEAR

EDIT:

Paddington

Absolutely great movie, definitely worth the time to watch :').

The Matrix
0/10, very disappointed, no mats anywhere in this film
jk jk it was pretty good

50 Shades of Grey
meh the book was better

what did you think about neo basically becoming god?

i thought it was a really stupid twist, even though the buildup was there and all, but its just really lazy writing imo

doesnt that happen in one of the later movies
i was pretty sick watching it yesterday but i've seen them before
idk people are like "the matrix is a complex psychological thriller and im like "no its action movies" so i basically dont take them seriously
him becoming god gave them more action so

no its in the end of the first one where he flies away you know

besides that my actually favourite movie is reloaded since i watched them the last time because i got over my bias finally

Jurassic World

all hail the 2.0 aspect ratio

but seriously, i saw this in imax 3d and it was awesome. the characters end up feeling terribly flat, but there's so much to geek out over that i don't really care too much

EDIT: oh man this is great

It's official: The year of 2015 is the year where directors with talent start to hit their low points. Michael Mann with Blackhat, David O. Russell for Accidental Love, Cameron Crowe with Aloha and now this movie by Mr. Brad Bird.

Actually, Lucas did a very good job with this series. He made it terrible on purpose, to anger us and allow us to connect to Anakin better.

I wish George would go back behind the camera, I mean when is the last time he directed a movie? episode 3? aand that was what? 2005? I hope he directs another movie sometime

Jurassic World

I liked it.
So do the inGen guys get away with the hybrid embryos? I know there was a raptor that killed Hoskins, but considering it went immediately after the heroes, I somehow doubt the inGen guys were stopped. And as I remember the scene, the raptor appeared by surprise and approached Hoskins, so I kinda doubt he(?) stopped the inGen guys beforehand.

okay now that i no longer have a headache i can suitably talk about attack of the clones

i remember a long time ago my father was telling me about how star wars was popular because it was a simple good vs evil plot that was easy to enjoy. attack of the clones, on the other hand, has a plot more complex than i can really care for. certainly not particularly intricate, but considering that all of the characters talk like they really don't want to be there, i found myself checking out of the story pretty quickly. it also doesn't help that the final battle, while having a cool factor, is dragged out way too long and is way too large to keep track of. in general the movie was just loud and lifeless

the final shot was nice though
