I think it's because Trixie comes off as more sympathetic because from a lot of peoples view point shes just trying to do her job (which she is apparently very good at) but she keeps getting yelled at for being arrogant when really shes just trying to entertain people. While Flim and Flam come off as *bleep*s and are hurt because they appear in a very flawed episode.
I... DON'T think she does a very good job at it. Don Rickle aside, I don't think I've be entertained by watching someone not only humiliate someone else, but also hurt them (Trixie making a raincloud strike lightning at Rainbow Dash sticks out in my mind and makes me think she's gone too far).

If she REALLY just wanted to entertain people, then she shouldn't be gloating like that. Also, notice, when it's just Snips and Snails and she's NOT on stage she still keeps up her snooty, arrogant attitude. Everything you said is basically just fanon, or at the very least, headcannon, it's something people WANT to believe, not something that's actually confirmed within the show itself. That's kind of what annoys me about Trixie, they're trying to make her sympathetic by making up stuff to MAKE her seem sympathetic.

I didn't think Super Speedy Cider Squeezy 6000 was a flawed episode... Even though I have mixed feelings about it, I think everything IN the actual episode works, especially the antagonists Flim and Flam.

Actually everything i've said comes from TV Tropes and person feelings :P also some people don't break character it's a common tactic among entertainers such as masked Mexican wrestlers and such. And yes that was probably to far although I think she was right to humiliate them since they did kind of interrupt her show. (to be honest I haven't seen that episode in quite a while and when I watched it I really didn't like MLP and only watched it because I was with friends up at a cabin at Okoboji)
Also I absolutely hated the Super Speedy Cider Squeezy 6000 because it totally fucked up the moral.

You know what this reminds me of? It reminds me of people saying the Irate Gamer tells horrible jokes and does a lot of bad acting in his videos ON PURPOSE, whereas I think they're giving him too much credit. Same kind of goes for Trixie in that context, saying she only acts like a arrogant jerk, even off-stage, just so she can stay "in character". What for? For the sake of the ponies she's entertaining? Do they really expect her to act like that 24/7, or when she's interacting with someone? You'd THINK someone like that would have some downtime... you know, with Stephen Colbert and Doug Walker, they play characters, but they don't act like that 24/7 just for the sake of entertainment.

Sorry to keep poking holes in your argument, if all this justifies you're like for Trixie then more power to you, I'm just really curious about the drive behind Trixie fans...

Yeah, the fucked up "moral" really didn't do it for me, either. One of the many things I didn't like about the episode. But then again, other episodes had morals that didn't really match up with what went down in the episode, like they just tacked on a moral for the moral's sake. And in that retrospect, I'd say, moral aside, it was a pretty solid episode.

Like I said I really don't remember the Trixie episode to much and T.V tropes pages aren't really known for balanced arguments. To be honest my two biggest dislikes of MLP episodes is that they commonly screw up the moral, and I have yet to see a two part episode that was any good.
Because I almost quit watching after the first 2 episodes but decided to give them a 2nd chance
Literally did nothing but make fun of Discord and can't stand him as a villain
Gave up about half way through the first half of the Royal Wedding

What I like about MLP is memorable minor character like Filthy Rich (greatest pony ever) and Fancy Pants (2nd greatest pony ever) who both manage to be likable characters despite having names that in the MLP world would usually make them an asshole

Seriously, watch the second half of A Canterlot Wedding. MILLION times better then the first half. Trust me, I didn't like the first half, either, and the second half completely made up for it!

I liked Discord, I liked him because he's a spirit of chaos, he does his own thing, and deals with those that get in the way of his "fun". Sure his defeat was rushed and made him look stupid, but I feel like that was more of a time issue then anything else.

I like Filthy Rich, in that he SEEMS like a decent guy, he just happens to have a bitchy daughter (he may also use some questionable business tactics). Fancy Pants is also awesome.

I couldn't get into the Discord episodes they seemed rushed I mean did you see how little effort it took to break Applejack and Pinkie Pie despite their strong friendship with the others

Also Filthy Rich actually uses legitimate and legal business tactics (unlike other ponies who raise the prices on goods when they find out that someone needs them)

I'm not doubting you for what you're saying, the episodes did, indeed, seem rushed, and I REALLY didn't like how Twilight snapped her friends out of their Discord'd states... ESPECIALLY when at the very beginning, they sort of poked fun at Twilight's magic being a deus ex machina that can solve anything, and now here it's being played completely straight. I feel like this should have been better suited as a 3-parter or a TV movie.

That said, I liked the idea and the story behind the episode, and Discord is a good villain, there just wasn't enough time in a 2-parter to really grasp everything that happened.

Oh yeah... God damn, I hated that about Putting Your Hoof Down. It's like, everyone's a jerk, but then, suddenly everyone's NOT a jerk just in time to show that Fluttershy's going overboard.

I think Discord would have been better as a serious villain personally but what do I know. Also the fact that the ponies went to the maze pisses me off because it was a completely illogical decision. The only way the maze could have been correct was if the elements were at the start of it.

They went to the maze because Twilight misinterpreted Discord's riddle. She assumed they were somewhere in the maze, she just didn't know where. Discord didn't bother correcting her because, you know, leading them into a trap, messing with them, etc.

discord was good because he wasnt serious, he was playing one big game with them and he legitimately gave the ponies a good chance to defeat him. you know. for fun. like a joker type villain. its perfect.

EDIT: smashgoom202 post conflicted me and conveniently posted a pic of joker above another joker post, great

Yes there is a serial killer loose in ponyvile it's genius i don't really care for the joker :P

Also my biggest problem was that Apple Jack even repeated the riddle yet nobody corrected Twilight when she missed the last part of it multiple times.

At first, I thought Scootaloo was a dragon like Discord, but instead he was a pony.

Eh, Scootaloo is a girl. And how did you come up with that? o_O

EDIT: Also Discord isn't really a dragon. He has a different name for his species.

>implying tails aint a girl

i used to call depry and rainbow dash "he" a lot but that was always out of accident its just something i did man

My mom AND grandmother thought Rainbow Dash was a boy, too.

Tabitha St. Germain thought Derpy was a boy, too... and look what happened because of that?

I made myself feel bad. :'(

It's real strange because for the most part they make sure to make it distinct which ponies are mares or stallions. As Stallions tend to have a bigger body, shorter tails, and MUCH longer snouts then the mares. Oh of course there's also the eyelashes.

When I started watching MLP, I mistaken Rainbow Dash for boy too. I also thought "That's why everyone thinks Rainbow Dash is best pony, he's a boy!" It wasn't until a later episode I noticed they called Dash "she."

since i havent watched that many episodes i really only know discord and big machintosh as boy ponies

I JUST REALIZED

since tabitha thought derpy was male

she herself derped

therefore, derpy has the perfect voice
