Mario Kart 7

The biggest issue is when your VR goes up, so does the strength of your opponents. Sometimes you have to go through your recent opponents, and find the ones that you've beaten a lot; those kinds of opponents are typically in weaker rooms.

However, VR isn't everything, since a player by the name of Mr. Doom has given me a challenge, despite having less than 4000 VR.
 
Yeah, If I'm lucky I get into a room with people with 2000 vr, but if I'm super unlucky I end up with people with 7000.
 
Vr means nothing, I have seen crap players who I own with 10000vr and have been beat by players with 800vr
 
I've recently been going up against players who aren't even at the 10000+ VR mark, and they've been giving me a run for my money too. I'm hoping that my recent opponents list keeps at least one weak opponent (which are often players whom I've beaten with very few losses) that I can join.

On another subject, I did try out the pure gold combo (Gold Standard + Gold Tires + Gold Glider) on Wi-Fi, but needless to say, the Gold Tires just aren't for me.

Yeah, it doesn't determine your skills very well in this game since it's so easy gaining VR, the only way you can lose them is being last but even then you only lose a little which you could gain back easily.

Is the Handling for the complete Gold set more than 2/5 bars? If so, that's good. If not, that sucks. I can handle 2 bars of handling but lower is really hard to steer.

I must be wierd, on Kalamari desert I slip around alot because of my crap off-road/handling but I find it to be really fun.

Also, it'd be awesome if you made those MK7 Sigs for people :) Although, I'd be having to wait until I get a combo worth sticking to.
 
I was using Toad when I tried the pure gold combo. However, the Gold Tires seemed to operate worse than the Red Monster when I tried them.

You forgot Weight
 
Weight isn't all that important on my end either. It's only during collisions where weight plays a factor, so as long as you're not in a crowd, you should be okay with the lightweight combos.

Well, I've taken care of every Expert Staff Ghost in the game. It took me a while to figure out the key to beating the one at Cheep Cheep Lagoon though.
