Luigi's Mansion: Dark Moon

Well, my cousin has it and usually takes him 3x as long to beat games as I do, and he's already on the third mansion after the second day.

Basically...is it worth buying LM: DM, or am I going to regret it like PM: SS?

Also...

I heard - and saw in a spoiler for the final boss - a reference to Baby Luigi. Does the game actually include Baby Luigi?

Really, you won't know if you'll regret it unless you buy it. So far I haven't seen 90% of everyone on this forum yelling at it for not being what they expected so it doesn't seem to be a 'failure' like Sticker Star.

Yes, Baby Luigi is referenced, but he is not in the game

And yes you should get it.

I have a good 18 hours in it without 100% it, so if you're someone who does that you can probably get a good 21 hours out of it.

He should have been in the game, but meh, the game already made a fan happy before she started playing it

There is no reference to Baby Luigi. The final battle is awesome, however.

If you have the Japanese version, then you're right

But the English version has it

Still referenced in a wiki and still a reference to Baby Luigi...

I found that funny too. It almost sounds like Mario's blood.

Is that really a spoiler?

When I play a game, I take that game as an experience. For example, if I know someone who is going to play Portal/Portal 2, I will not tell them any lines/show them any scenes from the game, because each line/scene is written and placed in a way that contributes to the overall experience of the game being awesome. In the same way, I would like to experience this game by myself without anyone ruining it for me.

There's a 80% chance the game will be spoiled for you on one of these threads. I had to force myself to take a week of not visiting the forum to not tempt myself to check the Skyward Sword thread before I finished, sure enough the thread did have one single post of spoiler without a tag that would have spoiled the final boss for me.

There is an 80% chance of being spoiled just by being online at all at any gaming forum or something.

The point is, it's not so hard to just, you know, put it in the spoiler tag. The game hasn't even been out for two weeks, no need to spoil it.

Anyway, I beat the first mansion today. Once I figured out how to do it, the first boss fight was actually creative. I went back and did some previous missions to get the Boos, but missed Gravity Falls for it and am now kicking myself.

Played the game yesterday....

I had a blast with this game. Easily the best Mario game the 3DS has to offer. If you guys want a true definition of a sequel, this is it. Luigi's Mansion: Dark Moon is the very definition of a sequel done right. It shoves New Super Mario Bros. 2 and Paper Mario: Sticker Star out of the way and it bucks the trend of mediocre Mario games we had in a while, especially the trend not-so-good Mario 3DS games. Just by playing this game, I could really tell the game developers cared about it. Next Level Games has impressed me, and I hope the quality of the Mario games we had been looking for stays just like this. This game is supposed to be Nintendo quality Mario game.

ScareScraper is an awesome mode and very addictive. My sister and I had much fun playing it. We'll be playing more of this in the future, definitely.

Watch a video and maybe there's a good quality video that showcases the ghosts

so i was just wondering, is this game any good, or should i skip it and get animal crossing instead?

Personally, if I had to choose between the two, I'd go for Animal Crossing.

Luigi's Mansion is good, but... Animal Crossing.

LMDM is an excellent game, but I think you'll probably play ACNL for longer.

I don't want to say you'd get more bang for your buck because that's subjective, but eh.

If you've never gotten an Animal Crossing/Haven't played one in a while, then yeah, that's probably the way to go.

I wouldn't say it's the true definition of a sequel. The vibe I'm getting from it is that it'd be much better suited for the Wii U. It's a good game, just not quite the sequel to Luigi's Mansion 2 I was hoping for.
