Luigi's Mansion: Dark Moon

I wouldn't say it's the true definition of a sequel. The vibe I'm getting from it is that it'd be much better suited for the Wii U. It's a good game, just not quite the sequel to Luigi's Mansion 2 I was hoping for.

From my experience of playing the game, it met my expectations for a Luigi's Mansion sequel. More Mansions? Check. Improved gameplay? Check. Multiplayer mode? HELL YES check. New things while keeping the feel of the original? Check.

Those are my qualifications for a sequel (depends on the game, actually, but w/e)

I'm sorry, I'm just in love with this game.

as a note, i've never played animal crossing or luigi's mansion

Both are good, addicting games, but the problem with Animal Crossing is eroding. What is eroding, you ask? Well, the game is alive, EVEN when it's off. So when you go away from Animal Crossing for a while, your town will deteriorate. That's a definite bad point that will force you to keep playing, but it's still fun regardless.

oh yeah i've heard about that. sounds kinda annoying. but i'm still kinda leaning towards animal crossing

Another problem that Animal Crossing has that it is real time, so that means you have absolutely nothing to do in the night time (after like all shops close) and if you want to catch a certain bug, you'd have to wait till a certain season literally.

I've got Animal Crossing and Luigi's Mansion 2, but I prefer Luigi's Mansion 2 over Animal Crossing, as I never know what I need to do in Animal Crossing, even when localized.

IIRC, you'll be able to customize your town's rules so that stores will be open later, or make it so that weeds are less likely to grow.

Because the game tracks the 3DS's clock, changing the date using the 3DS's internal clock/the in-game clock let's you time-travel to whatever date you wish, whether it's a few hours, days, or years. (Although of course the further you travel without checking up on your town, the more serious the eroding is.)

Like Fassad stated, New Leaf has better replayability than Dark Moon, but you can't go wrong with either.

Also Eerie staircase sucks.

They fixed all those problems in New Leaf Wild World has? Cuz that's the only AC game I really played.

Is it just me, or are the quotes from King Boo in LM: DM the best? Especially:

Say, remember when you trapped me in a painting for all eternity? Good times. But guess what?! I GOT OUT! And now I'm painting the town RED!

and...

You, that annoying scientist, and all your friends will look great hanging in the wall of my throne room!

And let's not forget all the tactics King Boo uses in this game just to try to K.O. Luigi hard.

Now if only King Boo actually spoke those lines...

Personally, I love this game, but I absolutely hate it when I get teamed up with complete jerks or really inexperienced people in ScareScraper; jerks just run away or even leave the game when I find a room with lots of tough ghosts in it or they butt in and steal the ghosts I was working hard to capture (this is particularly frustrating in Polterpup Mode or when I'm fighting a boss), and inexperienced people don't do anything to help me when I get cursed or something, even if we're in the same room.

Good thing I play with a twin sister who IS a jerk at times, but a nice jerk.

I still have yet to get it. Should come this week (otherwise its very late/been stolen from the mailbox) so I can try it out.

I really should try this game. Never got much into the first one because I wasn't used to the gameplay. Not saying it was bad, I just didn't get very far. Would you guys recommend that I get this one?

You won't believe I LOVED imitating how King Boo would be talking when reading said lines; especially the latter ones. It's just so flat out funny!

It's easier to catch ghosts thanks to the Strobulb.

Well you should post it here since I can't be bothered to check out the 'Shroom (I'll forget)

Well, here my experiencie about the game :luigi: ´s Mansion Dark Moon:

I Never owned the original Luigi´s Mansion but a friend lend me his copy so I played it, the game was short but very enjoyable, today many people is crying because the overlook this awesome game because was diferent and isn´t a Mario Game, so went the sequel was announced, many friends (and my) went crazy, after waiting 3 years i finally has in my hands the game, and...i loved so much.

First i was insecure how the gameplay will work without a second circle pad, but it works very well, the first mission was a little annoying because EGadd constans callings, fortunately, it was only for the first mission, the mission stucture wasn´t as annoying as i think it will be, no checkpoints its kinda sad but the i used to close the 3DS and after a time i return.

The Ghost feels very...ehem...alive, unlike the ghost in the original luigi´s mansion they have good personality, the mutiple mansion make the game feels fresh and luigi is very funny.

The only bad thing i found was some glitches in the game, like the money stay in the air, traspasing walls, etc. this game made me hate mices...

Then the bosses, please don´t kill me...but i loved ALL THEM...(well i just hate one boss)

The Mid-Bosses, are good but the 1 and 4 minibosses were very forgetable, the three poltergeist didn´t feel like a miniboss (the music was amazing throgh) and the 3 chained ghost were boring, good looking, but boring, the other minibosses were great, the Three Sisters, The Ancient Poltergeist (because the attacks) and the Powerful one(The setting) had amazing thing for thier own.

The First Main Boss is great, the music and the puzzle were amazing, but it´s more puzzle that boss, i actually manage to discover the puzzles very quickly, even that final part i discover how beat it without be expose to it (i saw alot of let´s players who make the third phase wrong...but works)

The Second Boss was KingSombra´s Favorite not that annoying as many people says, the first part i actually discover how to past it...I only falls 4 times, the boss itself was a let down of the first one but was ok i guess.

The Third Boss, that Doctor Who´s Favorite infamous boss all people in boards said was so difficult...then i played and i liked, was more a Endurance Battle that a Boss Battle but was great, the only problem with the "boss" was the mummy part but outside that was a pretty decent boss too.

The Fourth Boss was....AMAZING, I really liked the First Person Mode, was funny, Im actually surprised how many people HATE this boss, because the overheat thing and the boss healing himself thing, but sincerely, i never experiment that, it´s one of the funniest boss in game in my personal opinion, and the possesor ghost actually do a little more after he is reveled (making the portal attack)

I don´t Hate neither the Second, the Third or the Fourth bosses, so, what boss you hate?...BIG BOO, the music was soooo boring, the battle was trying to throwback the Boolossus Battle but it do it wrong because the new boo battle system, the idea was original but was bad implemented.

The Fifth Boss...OH...MY...GOD...the first two phases were very simple, because you know what to do that on an earlier mission in the game, the third one make me yell in epicness, i read in some place that the boss was an big armor...but it never said a GIANT FREAKING ARMOR, it was epic and difficult, the music was a little slow but it fit with the GIANT ARMOR, was a little sad it just was 1 phase but well was epic.

The Final Boss, King Boo was very good, has challenge, the chase scene from the NEWs series and a very good soundtrack, was twisted, was crazy, i hate that freaking giant frogs, was a very good final boss.

The game is great, and the multiplayer is great...if you play it with friends because with other dudes can be more difficult that you think.

Im really happy to own it and i will play it once again and again. :mario:

I haven't played this game past the first mansion (besides a little of the second mansion but I got stuck after entering the water room with no water. Help would be appreciated because I'm drawing a blank on what to do.) because I've been really into the Tales games. They take a while to play so I think it might honestly be a month before I even beat this game.
