The original NSMB was the best NSMB game.
The original NSMB is so *bleep*ing easy though, there's like no challenge in it at all.

I haven't been challenged by a Mario game in years. And the moments where I was, its usually some secret intentionally difficult bonus levels.

Bit of a confession, as long as a Mario fan I've been...

I have never actually completed any of the classic Mario Platformers (SMB1, SMB2, Lost Levels, SMB3, and SMW) without using Save States (on the virtual console).

Outside of Mario, I'm also the same with Sonic. I haven't completed Sonic 1, Sonic 2, Sonic 3, or Sonic CD without skipping to the final level with the cheat code to unlock the level selection. :V

I have finished most of the modern games I own of each franchise. But yeah, I suck at the classic games that made two of my favorite video game franchises so popular in the first place. :V

*Prepares to get his license as a "true gamer" and/or "true fan" (of both Franchises) taken away just for admitting this*

It took me years to beat the original SMB.

I blame world 8

My reason for disliking NSMB is different from other people. I don't hate it because it's unoriginal. I hate it because it's B-O-R-I-N-G.

My problem with NSMB is a combination of those. It's unoriginal and thus gets repetitive and boring.

The only classic 2D Mario game I've beaten without save states is World, and that was on the GBA remake.

Reasonable. Its pretty much the best version of World.

The GBA version is better because they made Luigi a distinct character.

More importantly you could replay the fortress levels at your leisure (once you beat the game) and you could switch between the bros whenever you wanted.

yeah gba remake is the best version

i'm glad people like the super mario advance games, i do

same, me and my brother had awesome battles, especially at the fortess.

ice arena is the best place. it has a koopa troopa that spawns blue shells.

I think the old cartoony and supersaturated style pre-8 fit Mario Kart more (as well as it suits the characters more). MK8 graphics are incredible but it just isn't how I think Mario Kart would look like

i believe that mario kart 8 is fine the way it is

I believe that Mario Kart 8's style choices are better than any other mario kart game by a large margin.

Now we have all three; negative, neutral and positive. But that is how I feel about it.

I personally think Mario Kart 8's triumph weren't its graphics (although they were amazing), but it's great level design.

Mario Kart 8 doesn't have the best graphics by far anyway. The lack of anti-aliasing really holds it back, and Donkey Kong looks horrid. The bloom gets overwhelming at points as well. Considering that the previous Mario Karts had crappy glazed graphics, though, Mario Kart 8 didn't have a lot of live up.

The first PM is the best one.
