Unpopular opinions about the Mario series

Bleh, I grow tired of this conversation.

Lets see, something unpopular....uh......I like Mario more than Luigi.

I like Mario more, but I like the bros in general.

I like Luigi more, since unlike dauntless, happy-go-lucky Mario, he shows fear and actually has to force himself to face the dangers, so he's more relatable and interesting to me. Plus he's totes bi for Peasley - representin'

I shudder to think of what all the kids who look up to Aladdin, Robin Hood, Flynn Rider, Miguel or Tulio must have in store for them. Like really, give kids some credit.

Not even gonna bother wasting my time trying to respond to the dribbling mess of a brick wall that is your opinion on the role of females in fiction.

anyway, on this line of subject, the warioware ladies are Pretty Good too *shift eyes back and forth conspicuously*
Agreed. I thought about pointing that out too, but I didn't want to dilute my main point and figured someone else would bring it up instead.

Yeah I think Mona would also been a good pick portraying an ideal woman in Nintendo games.

I don't think any of the females from WarioWare are bad, honestly.

That's fine. It wouldn't be worth reading anyhow.

Yeah, she's pretty cool. But my fave's still scary mama gamer 5-Volt.

while this is a prudent decision, you probably shouldn't waste good snark on the author of "opinions are facts"

Apparently that was in this very same thread.

Anyway I find Mario games that force you to use the mic annoying (especially 3D World) probably because my mic is broken but for someone who is a completionist this is extremely irritating. Although I did manage to get all the Green Stars and the Stamp in 2-2 without the Mic and clear the level with the gold post

Cool.

Anyhow. I still want that Kirby crossover.

Well I agree it probably is overused but thats more from repetition of the scenario than how it portrays females.

Ultimately for me as a literary device I view the damsel in distress trope like I view any other trope, it has good ways for it to be executed and bad ways it can be executed. And the way it's done with princess peach I feel to be perfectly fine.

Hell Rosalina is on this list and you had to save her ass twice.

What

Rosalina was never kidnapped. Sure, you had to help her in Galaxy, but in return for her help she destroyed a complete fleet of airships and took you to the center of the freaking universe. Now if that's not badass I don't know what it is.

Also, what would be the second time? She barely appeared in Galaxy 2 and she was not in need of Mario's help in that game.

I'd like to add the fact that Rosalina is the one that got Mario off of that planetoid in the middle of nowhere onto the Comet Observatory. If she never let him on her ship, he'd most likely be stuck in space and that's a whole lot worse than a Comet Observatory not being able to move on it's own with plenty of resources.

I already answered that earlier in the topic

A real space goddess wouldn't need external help with her engine troubles.

Altho srsface here, I quite liked Rosalina in SMG1 and having Lubba instead of Rosalina was one of the biggest rip-offs about SMG2 (as well as the half-baked plot, even by Mario standards, the boring as hell hub, and the vanilla world/level progression). On the other hand, I actually wish they weren't using her in all the spinoffs: she was so cool and mystical, but now she's just another princess.

Don't worry - the snark is for my own amusement.
