Unpopular opinions about the Mario series

N64 Rainbow Road is one of my least favorites and GBA Rainbow Road is one of my favorites.
 
I like Mario more than Luigi.

I used to share the same sentiment for a little while but I kinda reached the point where I now like both equally. :mario: :luigi:
 
Mario Sunshine had a good story. It was light hearted, comical, and helped the game stay interesting.

Main 3D Mario Platforming games should return to trying to have stories.
 
But Paper Mario had only two games that use the same formula. It never got to the point where the series became stale.
 
Paper Mario is an overhyped series of fairly average rpgs that only got any attention due to what franchise it's based off of and because both consoles it's first 2 games appeared on were utterly starved for rpgs.
 
Daisy is my second favorite Mario character, but if she never gets into a main game or gets her own game, I really couldn't care less.

That's not to say I wouldn't be excited if she did get into a main game or her own game. My posts on the "Make up a Mario title" thread proves that I enjoy speculating what a such a game would be like. But all the same, I'm not going to whine or moan if that never happens. I'll just stick to my conjecture.

Maybe it's not an unpopular opinion, but it's certainly rarely seen between the more vocal and immature Daisy fans and the Mario fans who are sick and tired of said vocal and immature Daisy fans.
 
I think DK64 needs a remake, I hate to see it stay in its current form like this.

We'll also get to see Chunky again.
 
The Ultimate Show is a ridiculously overrated song. It's my least favourite out of all the RPG final boss themes.
 
Classic Mario was at his height in 89. And not just the Super Show.
 
Here's a few random thoughts I've had over the past week:

  • Rabbid Yoshi is cuter than Yoshi.
  • The Rabbids should be playable in future spinoffs.
  • The Great Deflate is one of my favorite Mario Party 4 minigames.

While I completely agree, I think Yoshi doesn't set the bar very high to begin with.
 
Captain Goomba > 99% of Mario characters.
 
Despite what some people may think, sticking to the established characters isn't a bad idea. In fact, it would be pretty cool if they added more elements of the subseries in the RPGs (like Wario Land/Warioware and Donkey Kong Country).

Also, Paper Jam (and possibly Bowser's Minions when it comes out) is currently the high point of the Koopalings. I didn't like their portrayal in Color Splash for the most part (particularly Lemmy and Morton).
 
OCs are overrated anyhow.

I'd still like to see Waluigi, Donkey Kong, Daisy, and Wario in more games.
