Unpopular opinions about the Mario series

It's a "song" with a two second loop. Most of the time, people hate songs like that. I don't see what's so different about the starman invincibility. The Superstar Mario theme from Super Mario World 2 (Wing Cap in Super Mario 64) is a better since the song is now just a background beat.

But (unpopular opinion alert) the metallic theme is better than the Wing Cap theme.

heck yes it is

My other favorite incarnation of it comes from Strikers Charged. Jazzy. <3

is that really unpopular? i like the metal theme better too
Actually, I'm not sure about that in the individual fan level, but on a developer level, you never hear cover versions of the Metal theme in the later games, as opposed to the Superstar Mario/Wing Cap theme. I could be wrong, but the Superstar Mario/Wing Cap theme seems to be pretty famous and more remembered (OC "remixes" for instance; the cover versions in New Super Mario Bros. and Super Mario Galaxy).

So that's how I came to that conclusion.

It's repetitive, but it's not as bad I guess because you don't hear it as much and people don't remember THAT.

I give it to you, though, the disco variant of the Starman invincibility in Strikers Charged is the best one by far.

I really liked the sound of the characters groaning in Mario Kart DS when they get hurt (especially when it's from my opponents). The one that I liked most comes from Donkey Kong, whom I like to hear when he has a misfortune in not only this game, but from the Mario Party games for the Nintendo 64.

Thanks for reading.

I think the best groaning noises are from Mario Kart Wii.

Try getting a bad start (or going off-bounds, not falling off or falling into water although both are funny too) with Donkey Kong several times.

Mario Kart 7 has the best Wario kill noises

time trials is always a lame and boring mode

The only time I find Time Trial fun is when trying to beat those Staff Ghosts. It's nice that there is such a feature since it's otherwise not terribly exciting. For instance, Mario Kart DS has those, and recently I have beaten all the Staff Ghosts in Mario Kart 8.

peach is the most interesting and developed character in the franchise.

all due to the spin-offs of course

Don't call it Mario Kart 6. ;_; I hated the titles for the 3DS and Wii U installments.

Would it be preferable if Mario Kart have pun-based titles around numbers for sequels? I am thinking like how Puyo Puyo has pun-based titles based around numbers, such as Puyo Puyo Sun where "san" is three in Japanese, but it also revolves around the sun as a plot and a game mechanic.

Just speculating, but maybe like how the next Mario Kart will be based around Nintendo franchises because "nine" and "Nintendo" are similarly worded, so maybe "Mario Kart Nine-Tendo"?

Thanks for reading.
