i believe you and the person with the friend safari need to be online at the same time to unlock the third pokemon and hidden ability
Nope
Just now I found the third one from my darling's safari

it only unlocks it, after that you can encounter it in your friend safari

Wow, I got a Gastly from Wonder Trade a while ago, and I found out it's Timid with max IVs in HP, Defence and Speed.

The people who wonder trade well-bred Pokemon are really nice.

also, the reason they MADE iv's in the first place was to artificially increase playing time. they introduced it so that people will spend hours trying to get the perfect iv pokemon, boosting pokemon interest, so that people will still be playing pokemon and buying pokemon products all the way into the next generation.

Going off of my somewhat limited knowledge of the subject, I highly doubt this is true. From what I know, IVs were a hidden mechanic that was only accidentally found when someone hacked the game. They were never meant to be discovered and exploited, merely to be a secret background thing that made sure every mon was unique. So the notion that they actively put this mechanic into the game to encourage the creation of a trend where masses of players flushed their time down the drain to crunch numbers like there's no tomorrow is very unlikely.

I mean it DOES artificially increase playing time if you really have nothing else to do with your time, but I somewhat doubt they anticipated that development.

I find IVs very lame because that means if you want a perfect pokémon, you have to rely on luck. It would have been so much simple to have a option to change IVs. I don't know about battle maison but in metro subway from pokémon black and white, AI's pokémons always had perfect IVs. Isn't that unfair AI has perfect pokémons while you, you will never have?

Sorry for double posting, but this one has nothing to do with the previous.

FC: 3050-7875-7500

ARFU: Krabby, Quagsire, Frogadier
Shoey: Oddish, Petilil, Quilladin
Gamefreak: Fraxure, Noibat, Sliggoo

By the way, does someone has a Ditto in their friend safari? I would like to get a impostor one.

I don't even know how to get into friend safari. I haven't played in weeks, I need to get back to it.

I find the new Pokemon to be pretty cool and the upgraded look is nice but the region itself isn't really all that nice IMO, I'd rank it at 4th (order: Kanto, Unova, Johto, Kalos, Hoenn, Sinnoh).

it does, yep.

i think smeargles are cool anyway, but i don't have any smeargle friend safaris available despite having about 94 registered friends lol
can't you catch those on route 6?

the one with the battle chateau

no, they werent a mechanic to artificially increase playing time until gen III. its almost like no one reads my posts. but i already agreed not to spam this thread with this argument. :)

Not even you yourself?

You were talking about the moment IVs were made and put into the game. That is Gen1. What they were allegedly turned into in Gen3 is irrelevant because you were specifically talking about the moment of their creation.

Ok, I'm online.

EDIT:
Maybe we should make a separate thread for friend safari lists and everything related. It'd be handy to have an easily accessable thing.

Maybe in "Games with Friends"...? I don't think there is one yet.

No, that is me. Turb is "turb".

Sorry, I got roped into a battle so I wasn't immediately available.

EDIT:
Does Stance Change negate frost or something?

From Generation II onward, freeze has a random, 20% chance to be cured on its own on the frozen Pokémon's turn. Consequently, the frozen Pokémon may thaw out on the turn of freezing;

Huh, I never knew.

Good god, these birds are a pain. It's kind of crazy, the roaming legendaries have gotten HARDER to catch as the generations went by. Remember how easy and convenient it was in DPP? I guess they compensated for that by having a LOT of roaming legendaries to catch in Platinum. There were 5, for gods sake!
