Pokemon X and Pokemon Y

I hope there's not a new type. We're fine with the types we have now and we do not need a new type. Think of the huge gap it would create; it would look awful. 649 Pokémon wouldn't have the new type. To balance things out, at least half of the new Pokémon would have to be of the new type. If anything, they should make some changes to the type chart (make Poison super-effective against Water and Fighting and make Ice resistant to Dragon).

Maybe it will be.. the Pink-thing type

All cute pink pokemon will be pinkthing types from now on

Those don't make any sense at all.

Poison being super-effective Water makes sense, but the other two not so much. Then again, it's never explained why Poison is resistant to Fighting and Dark is weak against Bug.

or why psychic is super effective against poison.

POISON IN YOUR WAY, USE YOUR MIND TO DESTROY IT

They do. Poison can pollute water and, like Ghostony said, Fighting usually represents shape/health, and Poison can ruin that. It's unfair that Poison is only super-effective against Grass, which is very commonly paired with Poison itself, nullifying the effect. Ice doesn't necessarily makes sense being resistant to Dragon, but it's in terms of balance. Ice is only resistand to itself, which is a little unfair. What would be better than making it resistant to the statistically most powerful type in the game?

what's with all this discussion about a new type? heesh, i don't want a new type - xerneas looks like a fighting/psychic or something like that to me

then again indirect damage.

Actually, you can't do anything to a Dark/Ghost-type with Wonder Guard offensively, unless you have Foresight, Odor Sleuth, or a Pokemon with the Scrappy ability. There's a reason why Wonder Guard is Shedinja exclusive, since it's the only Pokemon to have ONLY "1" HP.

but cant poison, burn, leach seed, wrap, and weather damage destroy it though?

Yep, that's why Shedinja is almost useless.

As amusing as that video was, hardly anyone would be dumb enough to allow that strategy to work. For instance, if Onix had Sturdy, it would've survived Metal Claw, and then KO Shedinja with another Rock Slide; Focus Sash only works once.

And honestly, this guy is the biggest proof of that with luck and the right set up, you can sweep with anything.

But still, after I saw Virizion, I was extremely surprised that the opponent did not think about switching out Co*bleep*rigus when Absol was present. Virizion would've easily destroyed the Shedinja strategy by wiping out Absol with Sacred Sword or Close Combat. On the other hand, entering into a Torment would've been bad for Virizion without the proper predictions.

Exactly. Anyone with Shadow Sneak could have defeated Shedinja as well.

Yeah, the guy was pretty stupid to let the sweep happen. And lol, Virizion used Quick Attack thinking that the loss of Wonder Guard would somehow make it lose its ghost-type.

the fact that he even used onix surprises the crap out of me.

that thing blows.

Yeah, despite being faster than Steelix, Onix's offenses are just pitiful. Unlike with Pokemon like Magneton, Chansey, and Murkrow, there really isn't any reason to not evolve Onix into Steelix.
