Yeah =/ Koopa Troopa will most likely be paired with Dry Bones from now on. That is if Dry Bowser doesn't come back, of course. It makes more sense to pair Dry Bowser with Dry Bones. Dry Bowser is sure to return now that he has his own race course in Mario Kart 8.

God, I want to have an HD, updated Double Dash :mad:

I think that most people just simply hate seeing Donkey Kong characters interacting with Mario characters, regardless of whether or not the game is a spin-off title. The truth is, the Donkey Kong characters are part of the Mario Universe as a whole, so there's really no reason why the Kong family and Kremling Krew can't be involved with Mario Kart.

However, it would be very illogical to add Link, Kirby, Fox, or Captain Falcon, as all four of those characters are not part of the Mario Universe.

petey's head size didn't keep him from being playable in DD

That was on a pretty large kart. Now imagine him on a bike.

I've seen a MKWii mod like that. Not positivly impressed.

No. Don't mess with Mario Kart. If you want a crossover racing game, make a new franchise or something. Mario Kart must remain MARIO Kart. I hated R.O.B's addition in Mario Kart DS.
wasn't there a pac man crossover at one point?

MnSG, I don't think there'll be 36 characters.

I think the max will probably be 30 for this game. I don't see how they could fit 36 characters in this game at a time like this...

I was focusing on a roster balance, but I guess in the long run, that's just wishful thinking on my part.

Anyway, having only 30 characters leaves my stat system with an imbalance, so the roster total would have to be divisible by 9 (minus the Mii) for the stat system to work out perfectly.

It should also be noted that a Wii U game disc is able to hold a lot more memory than a Wii single-layer game disc; approx. 25 GB vs. 4.37 GB.

Still, Mario Kart Wii didn't take up all memory (not even close), and that data could be used for something else

(for me anyway) mario kart is one of those games that game play and variety is more important than graphics

graphics are always nice, and often necessary
but with mario kart I don't consider them as important as in other games

The .thp files tend to be huge memory hogs if they're quite long though. It should also be noted that trying to make everything in HD can also take a toll on the amount of space that the game disc can hold, which is usually why a lot of textures use the CMPR format, instead of the RGBA8 format.
