Tell that to the Pokemon franchise, who got away with six playable Pokemon in Brawl. Yeah I know that three of the Pokemon are the Pokemon Trainer's, but that's still a moot point in this situation.

People tend to look down at Bowser Jr. nowadays, since his video game roles have begun to take a topple, especially after the Koopalings made their comeback.

Ironically, Bowser Jr. has the tendency to use technology to fight, which can explain his usage of the magic brush, the Koopa Clown Car, and any other type of high-tech device. New Super Mario Bros. did briefly break that mold, but Bowser Jr. did resort back to technology for his later mainstream roles.

Anyway, Bowser Jr. could be made unique by giving his magic brush additional effects, such as leaving damaging graffiti on anyone who he damages. But because he was never in Brawl, people immediately reject him for his lack of importance in the present.

On the one hand, I like that, because I'd like to tell that to the people who keep requesting Goku from Dragon Ball. On the other hand, it makes me wonder who will meet Sakurai's standards... Regardless, Waluigi definitely looks cool here! Better then in Brawl, honestly! Can't wait for Wario to be confirmed.

Sakurai's comment is based on Waluigi himself being a hard-worker. Not fans requesting the character.
