Yeah, it can easily be interpreted either way. Also, these translators have a really harsh joke, since fans of Smash Bros. hang on Sakurai's every word, and it can easily lead to certain assumptions.
 
Shame he's not playable, but happy that he is at least in the game.
 
That sucks. My honest reaction. I can live without him but eh, I like him too.

New Pokeball. It's Dedenne.

Can't say I'm too excited, especially since it's Gen VI's generic Pikachu-clone. All I have to say is meh...there are better choices for Gen VI pokemon imo. On the plus side (electric pun, get it :mario:), it looks like it'll be a somewhat powerful Pokeball. Hope Sakurai reveals some Gen V or Gen III ones soon (if he hasn't yet, maybe he did).

But anyway, dedenne looks strong... The wide electricity beams in a cross pattern must be quite powerful. Pokeballs are fun to use in a match.

yeah seriously dedenne is one of the worst pokemon they could have chosen. it's not even a interesting electric rodent, it's just a cheap knock-off of pikachu

The funny thing is, Dedenne is actually based on a hamster, much like with how Plusle and Minun are more associated with rabbits.

That would probably be more of a hassle than it's really worth. Besides, how would you determine what Eeveelution would go with, say, the brawling ring?

so why does it look exactly like pikachu

it's chubbier, has weird ears, and a weird mustache thing. basically it's french pikachu

plusle and minun at least looked different on account of their colors and the giant ears, and pacharisu and emolga looked completely different than pikachu
