There's a rumor circulatiing regarding the veterans

Spoiler: List of what the Rumor says

All characters except Snake and ROB are returning
Pokemon Trainer may have different mons
Mewtwo will return
Yoshi or Wario will be revealed next
Mr. Game and Watch will be revealed along with a G&W collection
A new version NES Remix (not sure if 2) will be when Ice Climbers return
Meta Knight will come when Triple Deluxe is launched in countries outside of Japan in May
Captain Falcon, Jigglypuff, Ness and Wolf will be revealed after launch.

I don't know too much about the Trainer having different Pokemons. Though I suppose Snake and ROB being the cuts might be somewhat believable. I don't like any sort of cuts from Brawl's roster. But those two I admit do have some reason to possibly be cut. Like it seems ROB was only placed because of an important role was given to the character in the Story Mode. And of course Snake could of not been able to reimburse with Konami.

While I can see Solid Snake leaving, R.O.B. is another story. Truthfully, I don't like Smash Bros. rumors, since they're just bound to stir up trouble if the wrong people see them.

Since when is Jigglypuff gender flexible? The only Pokemon that's gender flexible is Azurill.

Ya know what I want remember that stage from DK were you climb the waterfall in Brawl? I want a stage like Rumble Falls except climbing up a Pokemon Gym Tower or like The Mushroom Kingdom going to the side. Something extended mainly a large explorable stage.

Most of them are are really just fans making theories about what they would like to happen. As time goes on, more and more of those rumors are going to be debunked.
