Worst possible scenario: You have to buy th
e figures in order to fight with them on the game. Oh you want to fight with Pikachu in SSB4? That is willl 9.99

i'm pretty sure we all know that something like that would be the dumbest thing ever and sakurai would never implement it. not to mention that a change that big would be announced at the initial reveal. and not to mention the fact that we've seen demos being played and they didn't require any figures

i'd say that crackin's guess is probably the most likely. i'd also say this could be part of the interconnectivity between 3ds and wii u but seeing as they said the 3ds nfc gadget thingy won't be out till 2015, i'm gonna assume it's not. this might also partly explain why the wii u version is coming out after the 3ds version: they have to wait until the nfc connectivity is fully working and/or wait until the timeframe where the other nfc games come out

this news is really making me wonder about how the nfc will work. i wonder if they'll be smash-exclusive figures or if they'll be able to be used for a broader range of games? aaaaaahhhhh e3 can't come soon enough

For this game, Ike's design is based on the hero that appears in Fire Emblem: Radiant Dawn. His sword deals heavy damage in Smash Bros., so this design suits him very well! Rest assured, he can use Aether as well.

This news makes me very happy, especially since I've been playing Ike a lot in Brawl lately. Don't really like his redesign too much, but whatever.

Ah, Ike from Brawl was based on his first appearance in a Fire Emblem game and Ike in Sm4sh is based on his appearance in the second game he was in.

I think someone pointed out that Jigglypuff has never been revealed before a smash game was released and has still been in them all. I didn't check to see if it's true, though I don't remember seeing Jiggs before Brawl was released.

They might do the same thing here.

Ness and Jigglypuff are both likely to be secret characters. Secret characters have never been shown before release. The two exceptions in Brawl were Sonic and Snake.

eh, roy was more or less a clone, makes more sense to keep ike since his moves are original.

Some people are freaking out because some characters that could be unlockable (luigi is usually always unlockable) were revealed and others aren't, that they won't be in at all. Just because a character is incredibly likely to be in (Jiggs, Falcon, Ness) and an unlockable character at the same time doesn't mean we're going to see them before release date like we did with Luigi.

That's just sort of aimed at anybody who seriously thinks some of the more obvious inclusions might not get in just because they haven't been revealed yet.
