Also how would you feel if Nintendo crammed in some of the lesser liked Mario and Pokemon characters as DLC Characters in specialized DLC packs and then there were 2 more DLC packs shared between the other Franchises for a total of 4 DLC packs. I'd like the idea and it could potentially cause me to get the game seeing more of the good characters. Just that I think this feature couldn't be added to the 3DS Version due to technical limitations though.

Also, did Sakurai ever state that Assist Trophies were platform specific. Is so, was Waluigi show of in 3DS footage? If so, this could hint at Wii U exclusive DLC containing Waluigi as a playable Character among others like Daisy and Bowser Jr and Diddy Kong.

Seriously you're just being obnoxious. Lots of people like Ike. And I never really got why people complain when something gets announced. It's not really affecting you in anyway, is it really? If you don't like him, you're not going to use him, it's not like it's beyond terrible that he's there for players who want to use him.

And no, this does not deconfirm the leak.
 
I basically agree with the list that GP gave.

However, with Toon Link and Ike back, I really don't know if Wolf will be cut. I mean, fans were already like "Ike and Toon Link are going to be the first cut", and then they reveal those two and now he's back!

Pokemon Trainer so far is the only one that is confirmed not returning, but at the same time, he wasn't fully cut, as Charizard returned.

So if we count the 9 on that list, ROB and Wolf, then we'll have 41. I wouldn't be surprised if the roster is around 45 this time around, so I could see additions like Chrom and Palutena and maybe even Issac as them. That would leave one spot, which could mean maybe Shulk.

However, I agree with GP and Giga12 that you can never predict what Sakurai is doing. Like, every new character with the exception of Mega-man and Little Mac were basically curve-balls. No one was expecting Rosalina to actually make the cut. No one was expecting Greninja out of all the Pokemon available to be in this game. Definitely no one was expecting Wii Fit Trainer to make a debut in this game.

But yeah, my highest hopes for the newcomers are Chrom, Palutena, Issac, and Shulk, and hopefully one of those 4 are in it.
 
I'm excited for Ike. I mean, he was a great character, and one of my best. :D

Of course, I'll probably replace him with Villager, Mega Man, or Greninja, but still...

He is a swordsman from Fire Emblem. And he's one the most powerful characters in Brawl, I hope he turns out the same in 4.

no, ike was never a character with a huge strength stat, it was average at best, but what made him terrifying was his speed and skill, while his defenses were decent, again his speed and skill what made him a monster in the first game.

Although i think they kinda altered him a bit in the sequel, fe10.

but its weird regardless, as ike is very slow but strong in ssbb.

Although slow might not be it more like average speed for most of his moves.
 
Sakurai said he didn't want the roster to go much bigger than Brawl, but he did not want to cut characters either.

Two conflicting statements.
 
I do like the direction that Sakurai is taking with the newcomers, i.e. less, but they are more distinct.

Out of those, 2 are from pokémon and one is from Mario.
 
Charizard was in Brawl, albeit as a part of Pokemon Trainer's trio of mons. Also, you're forgetting Wii Fit Trainer, which does, in fact, make four new series represented in SSB4 so far.
 
Well, the only other recurring Zelda character I could think of would be Impa, and the only other recurring Kirby character I can think of is Waddle Dee or something, so I don't know.

It's pretty obvious Sakurai is trolling us and that Waddle Dee is gonna be playable.
