Ike was my favorite character in Brawl and Radiant Dawn is my all-time favorite video game. I'm absolutely ecstatic <3333
 
Congratulations Ike Mains!

I don't think I ever doubted that much that Ike would return. I thought that Fire Emblem getting 3 characters was the most likely scenario given how huge it is now worldwide. It would of been sad if Chrom was placed to replace Ike. That feels like it'd be a bit of a blow to Western Audience Fire Emblem fans.

eh, it's a pointless argument to have anyway. it's nothing too important.
 
Not too happy about today's news, mostly because I want to see someone from Awakening much more than Ike and it does decrease the chances of that.

But neverless it's good to see that he's back.

I don't think so. Marth and Ike being confirmed already I think increases the chances of a 3rd rep. Maybe we have Ike already because Ike is in the Newcomer Trailer for the Fire Emblem Newcomer that we'll see in E3.
 
With Ike being announced, it really makes you wonder who is even going to get cut. Snake and Wolf are the most obvious. Pretty sure Ivysaur and Squirtle are gone for good. I feel like Ike's confirmation is a good sign for Lucas.
 
i do think ike's return helps the other veterans a bit. i could see ivysaur, squirtle, and possibly snake being the only cuts this. those are the only three i don't really care about so i would be happy if that was the case (i wouldn't really miss lucas that much either but i would prefer it if he returned)
 
But then again, any guess is completely out the window by now. Honestly, I wasn't expecting a character reveal this close to E3.
 
I dislike Ike. Very dissapointed he is returning. At least the Gemastu leak has been deconfirmed so thats good I guess.

Also how would you feel if Nintendo crammed in some of the lesser liked Mario and Pokemon characters as DLC Characters in specialized DLC packs and then there were 2 more DLC packs shared between the other Franchises for a total of 4 DLC packs. I'd like the idea and it could potentially cause me to get the game seeing more of the good characters. Just that I think this feature couldn't be added to the 3DS Version due to technical limitations though.

Also, did Sakurai ever state that Assist Trophies were platform specific. Is so, was Waluigi show of in 3DS footage? If so, this could hint at Wii U exclusive DLC containing Waluigi as a playable Character among others like Daisy and Bowser Jr and Diddy Kong.

He never said that they were platform specific. He simply said that there will be roughly the same amount of Assist Trophies in the 3DS version compared to the Wii U version, meaning that not all Assist Trophies will be on both versions.

And Diddy Kong is already playable. Don't know why you listed him.

Ness, Captain and Falcon, and Jigglypuff are pretty much shoe-ins, although I would've loved to at least see Ness revealed. Wario, Game and Watch, Falco, Meta Knight, and Ice Climbers are still in, I'm sure. I think it's safe to say Ivysaur, Squirtle, Snake, and Wolf will be cut, possibly ROB too. That pretty much leaves Lucas. I would be really disappointed if one of the Pokemon reps or Wolf comes back, but not Lucas.

If Ice Climbers are cut, though, my jimmies will achieve maximum rustling.
 
We have 30 characters now. I can think of nine characters that we'll most lkely not be cut.

Ness
Jigglypuff
Captain Falcon
Ganondorf
Falco
Ice Climbers
Mr. Game and Watch
Wario
Meta Knight

With those guys, we have 39 characters, the same as Brawl's roster. I also doubt that Sakurai has shown all the newcomers so we may see the likes of Palutena and Isaac pop up too.

Then again, I tried to predict the MK8 roster and Nintendo threw us a massive curve ball, so you never know.
