maybe late but i feel that smash is in part a celebration of nintendo and it's history

having only the last five or so years of nintendo represented is an extremely horrible way of celebrating that history

which is probably why i despise the idea of removing characters solely because they aren't "relevant"

also i think everyone in brawl (except maybe snake but i still like him) earned their spot and i'd feel bad for the mains of the characters cut, even for those i don't like much (lucas, pokemon trainer), so i hope everyone returns

Well, of course people will be upset their favorite character is suddenly missing. There are always some people who think that the old is better than the new. And that's okay, because that's their opinion. And the old is good.

But that doesn't mean that it can't be surpassed by something new! Everyone thought that a 3D Metroid game would be awful. Then they played Metroid Prime and were like "wow what were we thinking this game's awesome".

I just feel like a new good change to the Smash formula could end up with a game that surpasses what we all expected.

As for it being a celebration, I would personally just play the old Smash if I wanted to celebrate that history of Nintendo. It's kind of like picking your own era of Nintendo to celebrate.

doesnt matter what we think anyway, as its pretty obvious characters will be cut regardless, i mean this isnt kof2002 where there are like 50 characters or something.

So it'll suck to see some characters go, i just hope they can make up with new content.

Some fighters do it well.... a lot dont.

jav sure seems selfish

if i was selfish, i would want him to stay because i like f-zero

but i think it would be a better idea to have nintendo open up the roster and let new equally likable characters flood in

oh yeah, all those new characters Nintendo has made in the past few years like...

Not-Ganondorf
A dog secretary
????

Apart from Kid Icarus I can't recall a notable new character Nintendo has made in the past 5 years.

honestly why are we still doing this

it's clear that nothing we say will change his opinions, and nothing he says will change ours. i disagree with the majority of what he's said too but at this point we should probably just agree to disagree and move on
