I think Rockface Rumble is better.

*terrible music*
It sounds sleepy, dull, and lifeless like the instrumentalists were bored playing it, and on a loop, the saxophones get really, really grating quickly. Extremely repetitive.
If you want jazz, go somewhere else.
One of my favorite Donkey Kong Country mashups is this song, Lockjaw's Saga, and Bayou Boogie mixed with In The Air Tonight by Phil Collins.Mienshao said:Mining Melancholy is where it's at and it doesn't get near enough love.

Swiftie_Luma said:Now i can see why people hate Balloon Bash in Star Rush
Is so annoying because theres literally room to do anything and you are screwed if you have a higher number than the path you want to go through since theres no say to turn around or advance.
The game also loves to spam the Star Balloons next to the CPU.
Im a bit salty now cuz i literally ended the match with 2 stars and 120 coins while Mario who was in 4th half of the game , got babied and the star balloons were always on his path.
T
Literally the game gave me no chance to buy *bleep*, and that's whack . All because there's no way to advance and the routes are trash.
Ok I have to agree with this topic, I really think Balloon Bash is one of the most missed potentials for a side mode in this Mario Party. It tries to be like the older formula while retaining the board gameplay feature of Toad Scramble, and I think it pulled it off far better than amiibo Party from Mario Party 10 did, but the game is still heavily luck based. My first time playing this was on Map 1 against Normal computers (the new "Easy") and I won only because I had more coins and that I got a Slowpoke or Item Bonus Stars or something and it wasn't really all that satisfying to win even though I won the majority of the minigames.
First of all, the game's extremely generous with giving out coins. Even if you're last place in a minigame, you still get 2 coins. In original Mario Parties, you were really punished for not winning minigames, because that means you can't buy items nor stars and you have to rely on landing on Blue Spaces to get an income. In Balloon Bash mode, you also earn many coins by passing through these Coin Balloons, which comes in 5's and 10's, that are frequent and dotted across the map. It's really easy to get rich in this game without doing much at all. Sure you get 10 coins if you place first in minigames, but it's also easy to pass by 10 Coin Balloons if they spawn near you.
The next point is directly tied to how rich you can get in this game despite less measures to earn coins in less turns. Everything that costs coins in this game is dirt cheap, and every coin penalty barely does anything to your coin amount. You can buy two Double Star Cards for like, 10 coins. TWO Double Star Cards; if this was regular Mario Party, that would probably cost 30-40 coins because strong items work like that. Sure, you have to pay 80 coins for obtaining 8 Stars but you probably accumulated 80 coins to begin with too. Every other powerful item like Golden Mushrooms are cheap as hell too. Coinados and Coin Duels barely do anything at all; the worst you get losing 3 coins when again, you have like 80 coins and you can easily reclaim those coins back by just participating in a Duel Minigame. Stars cost only 10 coins, and you can buy 3 of them for only 30 coins, and I emphasize on "only" 30 coins because as I said, it's really easy to accumulate 30 coins in this game.
Items are really important in Mario Party and people don't often realize this; they made you able to just pass by shops to buy items or pass by Orb Spaces to get free orbs, that's how important they are. Here, you have to land exactly on the item spaces, Shy Guy Shop or ? Space to receive an item (and Map 1 doesn't even have a Shy Guy Shop!), so it's totally dependent on your Dice Block roll which then again is totally dependent on luck. It's too unnecessarily difficult to receive items, and that's a major downfall for this mode.
Having your accumulated coins count towards your Star count like what they did in Toad Scramble could have helped really ease some of the pain and suffering I've been through this mode, because I tend to be very rich from winning the majority of the minigames, but they don't for some reason, and instead, they hand out ridiculous Bonus stars like Coin Duel winner, which is totally luck dependent except if you're lucky enough to have the Stop Watch Coin Duel, or the Slowpoke Award which is luck dependent as well as the item user which again is luck dependent.
After being through two maps to unlock the third map I don't really feel like playing through this mode again. It's a shame because it's the only mode I can use Toadette first turn without risk of losing her in a Toad Scramble-like gameplay.
It probably wasn't clear, but I was trying to say that Galaxy was praised a lot of its graphics, and Ultra Smash outdoes Galaxy. I'm saying, Galaxy's age is showing for today's standards. In fact, most games from 2008ish are just starting to showing their age.Lin said:It also came out 8 years later and in the following generation of consoles so is it really a fair comparison?
Edit: That'd be like saying Super Mario Sunshine looks better than what Super Mario Bros. 3 could dream of.

I know which one of Wario's that you particularly like.
