I want a mix of all of them, but Faire Square, a fixed Star location, is the best one. Though the fixed star locations actually have different mechanics. Pagoda Peak and Faire Square have fluctuating prices (Pagoda Peak's increase over time) but the one in Mario Party DS lets you buy as much stars as coins you can carry.
 
While I prefer the star moving to difference places, it is known that it is in the game. What I like to see return is the star in a single space. However, it shouldn't be as op as DK's Stone Statue with 5 coins. Which, can easily be done it that game due to save states.

Hmm... this could give incentive for buying stars aeap (as early as possible), though I would like a chance to have it drop down (enough that it is worth it, but not so much that it is the lowest price for the board) near the end. The only problem it has is if turns aren't fix, then it isn't as simple as assigning value per turn. I do like the long board of DK's Stone Statue helping the single star location. Also, on that board, if you get to the star with 1 space left, you lose one star. I liked this concept, but I don't like it when it happens to me.

Personally, I'd like to see Kamek join the battle, because he would be a very unique spellcaster character.

We intended for this to be a general in-the-future poll, rather than for Smash Ultimate poll. As for Geno, the whole Square thing made him difficult to determine if he'd actually be a "Mario" rep, so that's why we negated him. But if you feel like he fits fine as a Mario rep, then option nine is just for you!
 
Professor E. Gadd is like, an incredibly random choice for this poll. I haven't seen like a single person ask for him.
 
I feel like Paper Mario should've been at least a choice especially if Geno was considered too iffy :P

And how some on the list belong to their own "series" as far as Smash is concerned. Oh well, my most-wanted is forever under "other" anyway but I'd have voted Paper Mario if he was on there.
 
Paper Mario seems to be a common enough request that I see him pretty occasionally on GameFAQs to the point of being ridiculed (which means something I guess). I keep feeling E Gadd is that character who keeps getting requested and then never showing up yet people don't really press Nintendo for the lack of E. Gadd the same way they pressed the Smash development team for the lack of the big purple winged corpse, the tall purple corpse, and the also-big green opposite-of-corpse.
 
I voted for Waluigi because I feel this is the only major character that is yet to be playable in Smash. Sure some people will say that he is unimportant due to starting in a spin-off and being absent from the Super Mario (main platformer) series, but the fact is that he is an anomaly among characters starting from spin-offs in that he has a consistent presence that makes him more of a main Mario character compared to many others like Plum, Geno or Dementio, so much so that he even appears in group shots among the main Mario cast. Even the disappointment surrounding Waluigi not being playable is an indicator that he's more major than most characters.

Between these options, Captain Toad really is the one I want, but he and Paper Mario are just pipe dreams for me.
 
Waluigi, obviously. The only characters on there that really make sense other than him are Captain Toad and Dixie Kong (maybe also Ashley because she's fairly popular).

What on earth is "tall purple corpse"? I guess the first is Ridley, and the third is King K. Rool.

Real talk though, he has really high chances for Smash 6, just not for Ultimate (assuming they don't completely reboot the franchise or something).
 
I can actually realistically see him getting revealed in a future game, but right now, he's been confirmed assist since the start, so I really don't see how the team would just program an assist just to troll us about one character, especially Waluigi. Sakurai has always considered the prime example of an assist trophy too, remember the Smash 4 direct? when he started the assist trophy section, he had a Waluigi plush on his desk.

Even then, some characters just seem more likely. I would honestly be surprised to see him nonetheless, and would be happy for his genuine, reasonable fans (aka you guys).
 
Waluigi is my second favourite character in the Mario series, so...

That said, when the Smash poll came around for Smash 4, I did vote for Kamek, hopefully as a representative of the Yoshi series.
 
Since the poll-setters didn't post about the new poll, I shall do the honour:

Do you think Waluigi should be playable in Super Smash Bros. Ultimate?
* Yes, but only as an original fighter.
* Yes, but only if he is an Echo Fighter.
* Yes, I don't mind if he would be original or an Echo.
* I think he should stay as an Assist Trophy.
* I think he should be in the game, but I don't mind how.
* I don't want him featured in Ultimate at all.
* I'm indifferent to Waluigi.

I certainly voted for the first option "Yes, but only as an original fighter", because I felt that Waluigi's enigmatic nature and unique body type makes him ideal for having a unique moveset, and doesn't really fit the mould of any current fighter. It's unfortunate that he's not in the game, but I have hope that he's demanded enough to earn a playable spot in the future (because it worked for Ridley and K. Rool)!
