Option 3.

Spinoffs are ok and well... what can I say? They're really the icing on the cake when it comes to the entire franchise. Not rejecting the idea of a new spinoff, since I'd be fine with that of course. I just am happy with what we're getting.

Option 1

Always.

Spinoffs do a lot of heavy lifting keeping characters memorable long after their initial appearances and they don't get enough credit for expanding the Mario franchise. I want more Mario spinoffs especially ones that highly deviate from platformers and even other Mario spinoffs. Nintendo should surprise me as they did with Mario + Rabbids.

Winstein my boy, I have heard many a horror story about Yoshi fans. I think the only Mario fanbase without at least a couple super weirdos is probably Mario himself at this point.
I just saw this post.

Annd uhh, I'd like to know about Yoshi fan horror stories aside from some overreacting really badly when I say how much I dislike that insufferable spawn.

And also uhhhh

*cackles maniacally, chokes, drops dead, and twitches in desperate attempt to be the first super weirdo of the Mario fanbase*

Daisy is a super popular case because a number of super-fans' dominant passion had essentially made it trendy to lampoon the character. Even on this very board, it's very evident. I can't imagine a widespread hate on Yoshi as a result of those super-fans that you elude to, though. Has anybody soured on Yoshi due to the Yoshi super-fans that you implied?

I would love to hear some Yoshi fan horror stories too, actually, because that's something you don't normally hear, given that I can easily recall some unsavoury ones involving Waluigi (the Smash Bros. Ultimate) and Daisy.

Thank you for reading.

i feel like yoshi fan horror stories are more related to balloons of the deviant variety rather than obsessive fanboying

I've gone with option 2, I'd be happy if they kept adding new entries to the series they have, but ideally I'd like to see some new ones brought into the fold.

Which of these gameplay mechanics would you most like to see return in Luigi’s Mansion 3?

- Portrait Ghosts
- Elemental Ghosts
- Game Boy Horror
- Unlocking upgrades from treasure
- Varied endings based on collected treasure
- Dark-Light Device
- Boo Radar

Really want some Portrait Ghosts back, personally.

To be honest, most of those I would like to see back. Game Boy Horror would be nice for the commentary, Portrait Ghosts were always fun ghosts to try to expose the heart of, Elemental Ghosts were a nice challenge, and the Dark-Light Device makes for some amazing puzzles.

(I could take it or leave it on the Boo Radar, though. That thing was just annoying.)

If I absolutely had to pick one, it'd probably be the Portrait Ghosts. The uniqueness of their implementation cannot be contested.

Given that I haven't played a Luigi's Mansion game, I didn't vote for anything, though I do like the idea of changing the ending based on the amount of treasure obtained.

Thank you for reading.

This. I'm hoping to get Luigi's Mansion 3DS during the holidays, though.

I trust Nintendo for the ghosts. And a type of Game Boy Horror is too safe for me to vote for it. As much as I like the idea of the Dark-Light Device, I don't want it. First, it hid some things and thus you may never know everything. Second, it really effected the gameplay. And LM3 should have it's own thing. For Boo Radar, only if Boos are like the first game. So this leaves upgrades and varied endings. The upgrades in Dark Moon were easy to get (thus only in the multiplayer mode benefited from this) and were more than what they were worth. Varied endings based on money not only is the better way of treating money, this was the option I chose.

portrait ghosts
their removal from the series is the sole reason i never played lm2

Treasure based unlocks. Would be better for some sort of shop maybe?

I haven't played the original though, so portrait ghosts would be better I assume. :P

I really liked the idea of the Portrait Ghosts, and I did sigh with disappointment when I realised they weren't in LM2, so them.

Here's something a little bit topical :bowser:

What is your opinion on the "Super Crown" meme (Bowsette, etc.)?
  • I enjoy the meme, and I'm happy to see the unique designs of many Mario characters with the crown on.
  • I enjoy the meme, but I enjoy some Super Crowned characters more than others.
  • I'm indifferent on the meme; it exists, and that's about it.
  • I dislike the meme now, but enjoyed it back when it was only Bowsette.
  • I've hated the meme ever since Bowsette was first conceived.
  • I've never heard of the Super Crown, or Bowsette.

Don't care for it now, never will care for it.

It just exists.

(I'll throttle whoever came up with this poll though)

I actually did like it when the original comic was made (I sorta had a thing for tan girls), but the moment it started clogging up the KYM image gallery I started liking it less and less.

I enjoy Peachette, but the Bowsette explosion pretty much does nothing on me, so option 3
