[Also I noticed something funny when you think about it the Flim Flam brothers were never a serious threat since only members of Applejack's family make apples and they probably wouldn't sell there apples to the Flim Flam brothers.

That is true in some sense, but it was the fact that they offered their services that would make a lot of Ponies happier that made them a threat. If it weren't for the fact that the Flim Flams were so greedy, they might of actually been helpful to the Apple Family if they gave the Apple Family the more fairer of the profit splits. Unless their cider machine requires high gas money or something, they should of gave the Apple family 60 or 70 percent of the profits because they actually provide the apples that make the cider.
To add to that. There was nothing stopping the Apples from turning the competition down, but that would make their customers unhappy, which is never a good thing. Their pride was also being challenged, plus they were being put on the spot.

Applebloom didn't help either.

Duuuuuude, she's standing right there!

By what I mean is, she kept screaming, "You got yourselves a deal!" and trying to get into the competition.

What I kinda liked about that scene when the Apple family got into competition that it wasn't Applejack who went head straight into the competition. Instead it was a combination of Apple Bloom not knowing any better and Granny Smith getting defensive after one of the Brothers called her chicken. Applejack still goes on with the competition afterwards, but all that sells me in that part where Applejacks face is basically saying "We're FUCKED"

I think the episode breaks it's own moral it's supposed to be great things take time but the fact is that they made more cider in one hour then they ever did which means that great things don't take time. Also if I remember correctly the Flim Flam brothers cider was at least on par with the Applejack families cider and only became bad when they turned off the quality control which breaks the moral of the story. It also doesn't address the fact that Rainbow Dash did have legitimate complaints about having to wait in line only for them to run out time and time again. And the episode ends with a short term victory since the Applejack family has lot's of cider but it doesn't solve the long term problem which is that the same things gonna happen again next year or hell even in a few months since the ponies will buy more cider then the family can make at their usual pace.

I think maybe long term the Main 6 will help out with the Cider every year from now on by doing what they did in the competition.

And I don't think great things take time was a moral. It technially didn't have one. Remember AJ said "I didn't learn anything!". Though it wasn't like "I LEARNED NOTHING, LULZ", rather it was something she already did learn. Applejack would of not have accepted help from the Main 6 if Applebuck Season never happened and likely would of lost (Will they still lost but Flim and Flam wouldn't have had to been desperate had the Main 6 not played)

Here's something I found regarding the SSCS6K episode.

So Applejack "didn't learn anything" from the events of The Super Speedy Cider Squeezy 6000? That hardly sounds like something to brag about given what happened today. They claim to value customer relations over getting rich, and yet they let Pinkie Pie buy out a very large portion of their stock. Do the not see the correlation between that and losing the support of the whole town (the Element of Loyalty included)? It's a shame that Applejack abhors "fancy mathematics" so much, because otherwise she would have noticed that the Flim Flam Brothers' offer was actually quite generous. Sure the Apples only keep 25% of profits, but if that machine can more than quadruple their sales (and there's no question it can), they still come out ahead. Not to mention the hundreds of mare-hours that are suddenly freed up. They can go on all day about how machines are evil and all that, but when the alternative is angry customers and barely making ends meet, it's hard to sympathize with their plight. And the economic follies continued in droves, the Flim Flam brothers' threat to compete should not have scared them - were they not just a second ago bragging about their superior quality? If they're so confident, why not let Ponyville vote with their hooves? Granted it's a dangerous move, but think about it, it makes no sense logistically for the Flim Flams to make good on their threat; between costs of imports and machine maintenance, they'd never be able to undercut the ones who A, can boast "locally grown," B hold a virtual monopoly on Ponyville's apple supply, and C, are already charging exponentially less than what ponies are willing to pay (I think it's reasonable to assume that, seeing as demand far exceeds supply, and ponies camp out for days on end to secure a place in line). The only "competition" they can do is to pick up the deadweight loss from the Apple Family. With that in mind, wagering their only leverage is just about the worst move they can make. They almost lost the farm because they foolishly agreed to challenge the Flim Flam brothers on sheer volume rather than quality - we had already established they couldn't win on that. And the only reason they still own Sweet Apple Acres is because the Flim Flam brothers screwed themselves over thrice, first by not realizing that their lead was probably wide enough that they could still win without sacrificing quality, second by allowing Applejack to change the terms from her family competing to all of Ponyville competing, third by serving the ponies cider from one of the bad barrels made late in production rather than the good barrels made earlier. And her argument about having superior quality is moot, they never actually discredited the machine's quality-control mechanism. How can she be so smug when everything worked out by luck?

I just thought the episode was flawed for a few reasons
1. At the start of the first day the applejack family had made i think 8 maybe 9 barrels of cider, but they were able to make a barrel of cider that was the same quality in less then 2 minutes (with out the main 6's help)
2. There wasn't any negotiation with the Flim Flam brothers it was just no deal even though it seemed like they were interested in the invention.
3. They did attempt to portray this as a battle of quality vs. quantity at least initially when Granny Smith and them were talking about how it was better when it was home made because they put love in it.
4. They destroyed a large amount of trees (the Flim Flam brothers) on making bad cider which will hurt the Applejack family.
5. How are they still paying for this land they've been here since Granny Smith was a little girl.
6. The Flim Flam brothers were never a threat because only members of the Applejack family make apples and I doubt they would sell them to the Flim Flam brothers.
7. Like I said they started with an argument that Applejacks families cider is better because they take the time to make it with love and stuff like that...then they ruin that argument by having a cider making contest and making a barrel of cider (presumably of the same quality) in a manner of minutes by themselves, It's also ruined because the Flim Flam Brothers cider is at least on par with theirs.

This is a cartoon about talking horses.

2. There wasn't any negotiation with the Flim Flam brothers it was just no deal even though it seemed like they were interested in the invention.

They made a mistake, though I'd blame the Apple family for that (Apple Bloom was the only one who recognized the potential)

3. They did attempt to portray this as a battle of quality vs. quantity at least initially when Granny Smith and them were talking about how it was better when it was home made because they put love in it.

And that's a problem?

4. They destroyed a large amount of trees (the Flim Flam brothers) on making bad cider which will hurt the Applejack family.

Indeed.

5. How are they still paying for this land they've been here since Granny Smith was a little girl.

It takes a lot to start up a farm; they likely have debts to various ponies and companies.

6. The Flim Flam brothers were never a threat because only members of the Applejack family make apples and I doubt they would sell them to the Flim Flam brothers.

The Flim Flams can, y'know, buy their own land.

See #1.

Speaking of Apple Bloom, I had and emotional fit last night over saying something bad about the girl who did the voice of Apple Bloom in that MLP/Turnabout Storm crossover a while back, and how it resulted in there being no sequel to the thing... More importantly, I felt terrible once I found out it was a 9-year-old girl and that she decided to stop doing it because of the overabundance of negative feedback on her voice acting.

I'm done beating myself up over it, and I apologized to the project's creator and the girl herself, but I still regret being so thoughtless.

@SSCS6K Discussion:

I like this paragraph that was previously on TvTropes:

In "The Super Speedy Cyder Squeezy 5000," Flim and Flam were technically correct in their original claim; that their machine could outproduce the efforts of the Apple family ''alone'', and although they agreed to change the conditions and then lost because they got cocky, Applejack ends the episode getting equally cocky about a pretty hollow victory--she only won the bet via labor intensification; having to double her workforce on short notice. With the lack of industrialism established, next season either the town will have to face the same sort of shortages it did in the beginning of the episode, or be forced to suspend most other facets of its economy, possibly including the more necessary ones, just so it can create a large supply of consumer goods that are nice, but far from necessary.

so now i'm going to make my very very rare posting in this thread

in new news PONIES the Anthology II was released on July 1st

it's an hour and 22 minutes long

Yeah that video is pretty awesome. It's so long it's hard to keep track of what my favorite parts were. But "Ponies react to Gen 1" was pretty funny. Though it probably would of been even funnier if they had them watch Gen 3.

Hmmmm.... nope. 2001: A Space Odyssey STILL doesn't make any sense to me. Not even with ponies.

What's their to understand? Humans find shiny thing. Computer kills humans. Human turns into god.

I wish there was a episode that the parents of the mane six were revealed...

Cutie Mark Chronicles shows Twilight's and Pinkie's. And Sisterhooves Social show's Rarity's. But that's it so far.

WHAT?
I did that with a few episodes I think they were Baby Cakes, the one with time travel, the one where Rainbow Dash becomes a hero, and the royal wedding (I watched half of the first part and lost interest)

The first part of the royal wedding is pretty meh IMO, but the second part is great.
