Paper Mario: Sticker Star

You can use whatever stickers you want, some are just more effective than others.

I was wondering. Does every boss require you to use a specific sticker like using the scissors against Bowser Jr, or are you allowed some flexibility in your strategies?

I think for the first Bowser Jr. Fight it's necessary to use the scissors. But other than that:

The game gets a bad rap. It's highly original and more so than any PM game you are reminded that your character and the world around you are just a piece of peper. It is true, FP, EXP, BP,etc. are all just sequestered for just uh, Coins and Stickers. But look at it this way: Coins just take the place of EXP because you need coins to buy stickers to fight and you won't get Coins if you avoid fights. Same shit, different day.

uh you can get coins from other areas anyway if i recall, doesn't really excuse anything since the whole rely on limited inventory of skills is pretty stupid.

Actually it's not even that since you have to rely on stickers to do normal commands, which is even more stupid.

and remember kids, originality doesn't always mean good.

I liked the original idea for the sticker concept, but I absolutely HATE its execution

Hey, remember when we were all hyped up because a Chain Chomp was a partner? And then how they decided to scrap partners as a whole? I do.
Yeah. After all, that's what people have been complaining about all throughout the topic. Then, to add insult to injury, they had the audacity to give Bowser a Chain Chomp ally during the final battle. Even though that was probably meant to be a reference to Super Mario RPG, it still added salt to the wound, in my opinion.

It's a shame, too. I really would have loved to see how the two screens would have affected the Paper Mario gameplay. Oh well, maybe they'll fix that with Paper Mario Wii U - oh, who am I kidding, no they won't.

They need to make a new PM for the Wii U that has a Chain Chomp partner, a Buzzy Beetle Partner, a Blooper Partner, and need to be less paltformer-y and normal battle and exp and tattle, and recipes, and badges, and talking Bowser, and more areas that are actually non-linear, and a plot, and no levels, and items with no stickers, and more unique bosses, and anything else I'm missing.

As much as I'd hate to admit it, the story isn't outright terrible, but at the same time, it's nowhere near as good as the ones in the last three games.

Well, yeah, getting back all the Sticker Comet pieces and Royal Stickers was the main objective of the game, but there were plenty of other things that happened along the way.

Man if only the good stuff was there... besides rpgs are rpgs, not platformers (unless there's rpg/platformers like SPM or RPG/adventure like Zelda).

also to correct NSY, BOW DID APPEAR IN SPM, but only as a cameo.

also miyamoto needs to seriously listen to the nintendo fanbase hell I even heard months ago that he thought the F-Zero hype was over when it still was there.

I hope this doesn't happen to Star Fox, THERE HASN'T BEEN ONE IN AGES (that is not counting that star fox 64 remake).

anywho I think the only enemies who I found cool in this game were pretty much the shy guys, the bros species, ninjis and maybe a few of the classic enemies (there aren't cvharging chucks in this game?). You're all right, BOWSER NEEDS GOOD DIALOGUE (that means he shouldn't lack one, He was the source of most the coolest lines). Also miyamoto go back to plkatformers, just keep your hands away from RPGs.

Yeah, face it the game looks good but not as good as the first two games to put it straight. I 90% sure nintendo will listen and return with the old format with new twists next time. I trust them for the most part.

This, or remake TTYD for Wii U

TTYD was a fantastic game. By this point I'd actually be fine if they made a direct sequel to it with X-nauts as long as they actually bother making it like TTYD.

They may release it on Virtual Console you know.

If such a game was made, I'd definitley buy it.

Anyway, I've beaten the fourth boss now, and I've got to say that the level that boss was fought in was one of the few levels I've played and enjoyed in the game sofar. Why? Because minecart-riding levels are always fun. Oh, and I loved it how the Shy Guys got angry when you managed to sneak past them in the queue and whatnot.

I finally murdered Bowser :bowser:!
But when I returned to the game, all the Toads acted like I hadn't beaten him.
On the world map, Bowser's Castle still has a red dot.
The only one who seem to know that I beat the game is a purple Toad on the festival grounds. :???:

Did this happen to anyone else? And why didn't Nintendo give the game a true ending?

That game didn't let you save after beating Bowser, so of course the NPCs in PM64 acted like you hadn't beaten because according to the game's memory, you hadn't. Same applies to M&L: Superstar Saga, Super Mario World and Super Mario 64.
