What you don't like about Super Smash Bros. 3DS/Wii U?

Let's see here...

-no new zelda rep (bit opinionated, but I love zelda)
-oversaturation of past stages
-no more special melee/brawl
-too many mario characters
-too much kid icarus
-too many mario stages
-dark pit's a clone
-the whole ice climber universe dropped
-many modes underwhelming
-online still sucks

I'm really only buying it for the new characters and stages. Wii U version's primary, definitely. I don't hate the new games, I just find them... disappointing. Like more could be done with a handheld smash.

Haven't SD's always worked like that?
They had a similar structure in Brawl, but in this one basically every SD counts as a KO, even things that Brawl didn't cover.

The sd system in brawl is so effed up that even project m fixed it

Donkey Kong and Metroid getting jack shit, especially Donkey Kong.

Omg, will people quit with the "i'm butthurt DK and metroid not getting shit"

> DK rep added last in Brawl.
> Metroid rep added last in Brawl.

There's other Nintendo series that actually have been getting a much lesser end of the stick you know.
Well I'm if I'm a little pissed that Nintendo's fifth best-selling series has only two reps, while Kid Icarus, a series that isn't on the best-sellers list, has three.

Shotty local Multiplayer on the 3DS version in performance, and modes.
Screen too small in the 3DS version to keep track.
Lack of modes in the 3DS version.
Stage selection in the 3DS version.
Music selection in the 3DS version.

Smash Run kinda makes up for the lack of modes the 3ds version has

Though ---- the lack of special fights. ---- it hard.

The fact that you can never run into other players killed the hype for me. That, and it's not online.

And them they went ahead and made it even worse in the new one.

I'm not a Zelda fan and I think they should've gotten more reps.

1. That's not too much of a big deal
2. Online is literally the last thing I care about in a video game (which is why something like Kirby Fighters Deluxe interests me)

I'm not too fond of the fact that Olimar can only have 3 Pikmin now and they're plucked in a set order. Getting the Pikmin in a random order was what made playing as him fun.

That's what happens when you try to eliminate randomness from your game. (read:fun)

What?? I hope this isn't the same for the Wii U version.

they announced it in the smash direct in april, im pretty sure it was also wii u footage that they used to show it so there you go

i've personally had absolutely no problems of this kind, at all

me neither.

I haven't had any control issues, either. And I'm playing on an original 3DS. I must have tiny hands or something.

Again, due to the 3DS version, Olimar had to be restricted to just 3 Pikmin. However, they were changed to be in a set order so that it would at least try to counter the "painful nerf" that they even said in the April Direct.

He seems a lot better though, and having that set order allows you to be able to predict what Pikmin you'll have at a time instead of just getting it random or only a certain type from certain ground. Not to mention that the Pikmin now grab items and bring it towards Olimar when they pass by it.

The thing about it being random is being unpredictable and tough to counter effectively

That won't help at all, in fact it strips the appeal of Olimar's randomness and options. Having 3 Pikmin means that opponents can kill them quickly and leave Olimar vulnerable. Especially if you're against someone relentless in attacking. Also throwin Pikmin is pretty much redundant since you need all you can get. I don't get why the Wii U version has to to be in crutches because the 3DS version is.

This is exactly why I, and a growing amount of people loathe that it even exists.

The only reason I am extremely pissed at the 3ds version is that the team made Ice Climbers work on the Wii U while the 3ds couldn't, scrapping them altogether. Ugh. I should probably get over it soon though

I'm pretty sure that they made the 3 Pikmin more durable. And while his randomness has been reduced, it changes how you play as him, especially since he got buffed heavily with his up special, which was a pain in the butt for Brawl.

I dunno; the randomness being reduced has it's pros and cons, but I like that you at least can make a strategy with him instead of relying so much on the luck of the draw.

And I hate to break it to you, but loathing it is not going to undo it's existence, so deal with it.

Another reason why I would have preferred different roster, same stages.

Source on more durable Pikmin?

Not having more Pikmin gives him and the player less options, a strategic Olimar player can plan their attacks based on the order of their Pikmin. Some certain attacks with certain Pikmin are more effect damage-wise and in knockback than with a different Pikmin. The unpredictable part is that your opponent doesn't know that most likely and doesn't know you're planning specific attacks with specific Pikmin.

This doesn't make Olimar complete crap but it does nerf him hard and it strips almost all strategy to him and some uniqueness. The fact that this is all due to the 3DS version makes it worse, not only because of Sakurai's stupid decision making, but also because it's the only reason it's like that at all now.

I am dealing with the 3DS version but that doesn't mean I have to like it or can't be vocal about it. Which I shall continue to be.
