    Walking in that Russian deli in Costa Mesa, even as a tiny deli, was a huge culture shock to me, since Russian stuff are far and between here. Only in Los Angeles you can hope to find anything like that, but LA itself is huge and encompassing as it's a melting pot where you can find a lot of stuff anyway. LA is not a place I'd like to travel often to, since it's a 30 min drive to there and the traffic is almost always atrocious.

    I once tried getting a visa to Russia. Very, very difficult if you're not enrolled with an organised tour group or staying with recognised hotels.

    Yep, the first one I can make out the individual words since he says it slowly there. And it so happens that I actually know the words too. I probably DID fudge up the spelling of the actual words but I guess it's close enough.

    Can only make out "Ya" and "chik" in the one where he says Just a few more bottles. (after looking it up, bottle is literally "butilka" lmao a cognate)

    Fun fact: I think his voice actor is actually Ukrainian rather than Russian so he may speak with an accent.

    *shrug* Well Russian does have some letters unique to its language such as "shch" and "ts". Again though, it's pretty hard to hear Popinski and the "one arm tied behind my back" one is the toughest to decipher, someone said he does slur a lot and I agree with that.

    BTW, you said "Eta" and it's actually spelled "Eto" while how I wrote out "pabyeda", it's actually spelled "pobyeda". I always mess up spelling A and unstressed O sounds, they sound almost identical.

    I finally changed my signature after quite some time, really wanted to represent my main six. The original Dark Light one was created in 2016, while that Ray Trace image was created in 2018. I guess I'll leave them up in my bio or something.

    After listening to DNCE and Dua Lipa, I can confidentially say that I'm not a fan of the "MODERN MUSIC SUCKS!!!!" mentality.

    I like modern music as much as I like music from the 1970's (which is probably my favorite era of music). Music is just as good today as it was many years ago. You just have to be open-minded and willing to explore your favorite genres, there's gonna be a song you like that was recently released and you'd be surprised at that. Not to mention, there's plenty of music to explore outside of just the Top Charts, a lot of more niche bands exist and still make amazing stuff that's quite reminiscent of the older time periods.

    YouTube is going to remove fanmade captioning for videos, and as someone who watches foreign media who relies on fan-made captions to get the most of it, this is a hard hit blow that pisses me off.

    I think it's strange how there are far fewer Mario Party imitators, whereas Mario Kart has many challengers in the field that some even found success, such as Crash Team Racing and Sonic & SEGA All-Stars Racing Transformed. I think one series that come close to being a lasting party series is the Jackbox Party games, which seems to be a yearly game series that hasn't show any signs of stopping.

    I haven't played Civ Vi, but I DID play Civ Vee and I'm Catherine there. I really like how the nation color in that game is coincidentally yellow, Ray Trace's favorite color.

    Oh, you shared me this game before. It's nice to see this game come back in a form of a Civvie review!


    My favorite parts were the bits with the terrible NPC animations, with both the old ushanka wearing bearded man and the skinny guy you rescue in the theater. Holy hell did their animations look so jank and off-putting.
