In Civ Vi, you probably play as Peter. That's too bad, because he always denounces me for no reason and I have no shame in killing him, even if he gave me tasty caviar at first.
Honestly, I think Pokemon having a MOBA spin-off actually makes sense, since Pokemon is inherently competitive and it has a huge variety of characters that have potentially unique movesets that would make for a decent scene. I don't like seeing people harp on the game just because it's a game genre they don't like or that it's a game "no one asked for". If the MOBA looked like a quality title, then it would be fine.
The main problem is that Pokemon Unite looks cheap as hell, and I think it's on mobile so it would carry your typical MTX mobile baggage. It doesn't look that stylistically different than the market leader, League of Legends, hell, even looks like a bootleg of the game but with Pokemon characters in it. Oh, and of course the Pokemon we saw in the trailer is only Gen 1 Pokemon, with only two Pokemon shown being from other generations, namely Lucario and Talonflame. They're clearly making this game just to cash in the popularity and success of some MOBAs namely League of Legends and Dota 2 rather than making a good game that will stand on its own.
I also love how over half of Pokemon Unite's reveal trailer is nostalgia wanking.
Yoshi Valley: "The map modes that show the player icons making circuits around the screen relative to their positions seem to work fine; however, the maze is so complicated that determining the racers' current positions is impossible, so the players' mugshots will just be replaced with question marks."
I keep seeing this pop up online. Is there any evidence to this claim for Yoshi Valley, or is this just made up? Is it possible that this design is intentional? How does item probabilities work then, if the game can't keep track of the tracking? The character in first is still kept track of, by the way.
I've updated the Roleplay Rules and Guidelines thread in the forum to include a ban policy, now that I've done a third reply ban and I'm not even a week on the job yet...
